BJP considers legal action against Omar
Questioning how prohibitory order can be imposed on the Republic Day to prevent people from hoisting the national flag, the main Opposition BJP is considering initiating legal action against the Omar Abdullah government for “illegally confining” its senior leaders at the Jammu airport. Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha
Sushma Swaraj, her counterpart in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley and party general secretary Ananth Kumar were kept at the Jammu airport on January 24 before they were “deported” to Punjab by the Jammu and Kashmir administration.
These BJP leaders along with party’s youth wing chief Anurag Thakur were arrested on January 25, when they were leading the Rashtriya Ekta Yatra to enter Jammu and Kashmir. The “hijack” of a train carrying BJP supporters from Maharashtra, has also angered the party.
