Big B ploughs his farm land in UP
Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, on Wednesday, created a stir in Muzaffarnagar village in Kakori, on the outskirts of Lucknow, when he reached there to inspect his agricultural land.
Mr Bachchan, accompanied by wife Jaya Bachchan, reached the village in the morning and drove the tractor for a few minutes, ploughing the land, as excited villagers collected to see the superstar in their midst. Mr Bachchan made inquiries about the agricultural operations on his land before returning to Lucknow.

MP ATS arrests Simi leader

Nov. 24: The Madhya Pradesh anti-terrorist squad (ATS) on Wednesday arrested Munir Deshmukh, said to be a prominent activist of the outlawed Simi (Students Islamic Movement of India), who was underground for over 10 years and was wanted in six cases registered against him — five in the state capital and one in Ujjain.
Munir was the national secretary of Simi. Earlier he was closely linked with the State unit of the banned organisation as its president. According to the police sources, the anti-terrorist squad (ATS) had zoomed in on Munir, who was running a sleeper cell of Simi and was active in Delhi, Aurangabad and Hyderabad.

Maoist ambush kills jawan

Nov. 24: Suspected Maoists on Wednesday ambushed a search party comprising special police officers (SPOs) and jawans of district force (DF), both anti-Naxal forces of Chhattisgarh police, at Macheli in Bijapur district in the state, killing a DF jawan, the police said.
The incident occurred when the search team was carrying out area domination operation in the forested area. An armed group of around 50 rebels suddenly opened fired on them from a nearby hillock, taking the security personnel by surprise. A jawan of DF was hit by a bullet and died on the spot.

Tantrik held for sacrificing two minors

Nov. 24: In a ghastly incident, a two-year-old boy was abducted and sacrificed by a tantrik and his family at Bhillai, nearly 35 km from here on Tuesday night to appease Goddess Kali, the police said on Wednesday. The police recovered the body of Chirag Rajput from the tantrik Bhagirath Yadav’s house on Wednesday. The body was found buried under the portrait of the Goddess in the courtyard of the house.
The police also exhumed decomposed body of another child from the spot.
Seven people were arrested in connection with the murder of two children.
