Beni warns mulayam on amar issue
Union minister Beni Prasad Verma has a word of advice for his former colleague Mulayam Singh Yadav.
“Mulayam Singh should think twice before taking back Amar Singh in his party. Such a decision will make UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav suffer in the long run,” the minister told mediapersons here on Monday.
Mr Verma, however, ruled out the possibility of his return to the Samajwadi Party and said that he would remain with the Congress till the end of his life. Asked to comment on his recent statement in which he praised Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mr Verma said, “This is natural because Mulayam Singh is supporting our government and I have to be soft towards him. Our rivalry will continue in the Lok Sabha elections because we will be contesting separately.”

‘S&P growth forecast result of UPA graft’
AGE CORRESPONDENT
New Delhi, Sept. 24
The BJP on Monday said Standard & Poor’s latest growth forecast of the Indian economy has duly answered the fresh reforms announced by the Manmohan Singh government.
The party, which has been criticising the government, maintained corruption and policy paralysis has resulted in further slowdown of the Indian economy.
“The PM’s reforms have been duly answered by the S&P’s latest rating and its forecast has been cut by one per cent to 5.5 per cent. This is a result of misgovernance, corruption at the highest level and no honest and sincere efforts to curb corruption and get out of the sham reforms and policy paralysis syndrome,” said BJP national spokesperson Tarun Vijay.
The party maintained that the forecast will discourage foreign investors while Indian workers will be adversely affected.
