Bengaluru ACP summoned by court
The chief judicial magistrate court here has summoned Omkaraiah, Bengaluru assistant commissioner of police and investigating officer of Bengaluru twin blast case in connection with a complaint filed with regard to the arrest of People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Abdul Nasser Madani.
Magistrate Soundaresh on Tuesday directed Omkaraiah to appear before the court on September 13 in a complaint filed by Abdul Salam, brother of Madani that the arrest of PDP leader on August 17 in the case was not accordance with law.
The court had earlier summoned Kollam SP and Omkaraiah to appear before the court in the case on Tuesday. While public prosecutor appeared for Kollam SP, no one represented ACP.
Hence, the court directed Bengaluru ACP to appear before the court on September 13. Madani, who was arrested by the Bengaluru police from PDP’ camp office at Anwarssery near here, was now in judicial custody in Bengaluru.
The complaint was that the Karnataka police had not produced Madani in a nearby court immediately after his arrest as a part of execution of the transit warrant.
