Bangalore techie goes missing in Andhra Pradesh
Bengaluru: The family of company director M.V. Prabhu are worried about his safety. After he crossed a toll booth in Maoist affected Kurnool at midnight on January 12, there has been no trace of him.
The Andhra Pradesh police has told the family that there has been no reported accident on that day or the day after, in the area. Prabhu's family fears that he may have been abducted by the Naxals.
Prabhu, a 37 year old, senior level executive with a private IT company, Optimistic IT Solutions, went to Hyderabad on January 11. After completing his work in Hyderabad on January 12, he informed his family, at around 10.30 pm, that he was heading back to Bengaluru. The family has not heard from him since.
They later found out from the AP authorities that on January 12, at around 10.57 pm, his car a black Chevrolet Beat (KA 51 MC 6862) had crossed the Kurnool toll gate, but had failed to make it to the next toll booth.
Prabhu's younger brother, M.V. Prasad, told Deccan Chronicle that since January 13, both his brother's numbers are switched off. “I then contacted the Andhra Pradesh authorities and after tracking his car registration number, we were informed that it had crossed Kurnool but never made it to the next toll booth. It is a Naxal area; we don't know what has become of him. We suspected an accident, but the authorities informed us that there were none on that stretch that night.“
His friends went to the toll booth where he was last seen to enquire about him, and met the SP of Kurnool , Chandrashekhar Reddy.
But they drew a blank, said one of them, Prajil M, a close friend and colleague of Prabhu.
