Ayodhya verdict: Hyderabad wears a deserted look
Hyderabad: City under the spell of an unannounced curfew. All the roads wore a deserted look by 3 pm. People preferred to stay indoors and glued to TV screens to know the minute to minute developments about the historical Ayodhya verdict. Thin attendance was recorded in schools, colleges and offices.
Employees left the offices by 2pm. Schools and colleges were shut by noon. People struggled to reach houses by 3pm. Buses were overcrowded and autowallahs fleeced passengers by charging extra amount.
Police personnel ensured the bandh of shops, shopping malls, petrol bunks, cinema theatres from noon. Several schools and colleges announced holidays till Monday anticipating trouble after the Ayodhya verdict. The police set up camps and conducted frisking and vehicle checking.
