Aussie cops joke about Indian death
New Delhi/Melbourne, Oct. 9: New Delhi summoned the high commissioner of Australia, Mr Peter Varghese, and handed over a demarche on the issue of racist emails in which Australian police official joked about the death of an Indian.
According to a report in the Australian newspaper Herald Sun, police officers of Victoria were caught joking about the electrocution of an Indian train passenger and suggesting that it could be “a way to fix the Indian student problem” in Melbourne.
The officers circulated a video clip showing the death of the man travelling on the roof of a train. He was electrocuted when he touched an overhead power cable after the train stopped at a station.
