Attack by BJP workers was pre-planned, claims Digvijay
Congress general secretary and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh said here on Saturday that the attack by BJP workers on his convoy at Kukshi in Dhar district on Friday night was pre-planned.
Mr Singh was addressing a press conference at the state Congress headquarters here. He said that with elections round the corner, the ruling BJP has lost its balance and has become jittery since they now stand exposed due to so many scams and corruption related cases piling up against several state ministers. He said that those in power in MP are now a worried lot as the CBI has started investigating the case linked with the recent income-tax raids on two powerful business houses close to the top state BJP leadership.

Jagan put on IV fluids
Hyderabad, Aug. 31: YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy, who is on a hungerstrike against the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, was on Saturday put on intravenous fluids after some his vital parameters dropped, authorities at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) said here.
A team of doctors at NIMS, attending on the Kadapa MP, administered IV fluids after his health indicators including blood pressure and glucose levels dropped drastically, a NIMS official said. — PTI

Seer murder BJP poll issue

The Orissa state BJP unit seems to be banking heavily on the 2008 murder of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati to see a turnaround in its fortune. The party continues to refuse the hands of the Maoists in the incident and claims that the Hindu seer along with his four aides was eliminated by some anti-socials who were actively supported by missionaries.
The missionaries, according to the BJP Yuba Morcha, were extended patronisation by the ruling Biju Janata Dal leaders of the state.

Raman Singh’s guard opens fire

Raipur, Aug. 31
A security guard of chief minister Raman Singh late on Friday night opened fire on a group of revellers, provoking them to thrash him badly.
Shiv Narayan Sharma, a jawan of Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) deployed at chief minister’s official bungalow here had a feud with a section of public gathered at Telibandha here to celebrate “Matka Phodo” festival after being denied passage to pass in the route.
The heated exchanges between him and a group of youths had taken an ugly turn with the latter allegedly pushing him to the roadside along with his bike.
Angered at the offensive behavior by the mob, he returned to his camp to get his service rifle. He later opened fire on the mob forcing them to run helter skelter. Later, the revelers regrouped and overpowered him.
The jawan, who received bleeding injuries in his face following attack by public, somehow managed to flee the spot.
