Assets worth crores recovered in Lokayukta raid
Lokayukta Police on Thursday conducted raids at a Jail Superintendent's residences in Indore and Bhopal and recovered huge assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The raids were carried out since morning in both the cities of Madhya Pradesh against Indore Central Jail Superintendent Purshottam Somkunwar.
"So far, details of properties including three houses, hostel, four shops and seven plots have been recovered from his possession during the raids," SP Lokayukta, Indore, Virendra Singh said.
Besides, Rs 5.62 lakh cash, three four-wheelers and a two-wheeler were also recovered from his possession.
Initial valuation of the properties recovered from Somkunwar's possession stands at Rs three crore and it is likely to go up as raids are still on, the SP added.
