UP Assembly disrupted over law & order issue
Protesting in the colours of their respective parties, almost the entire Opposition came together in both the Houses of the state legislature in Uttar Pradesh to disrupt the proceedings on the issue of deteriorating law and order situation and the delay in announcement of cane prices.
In the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Parishad, the BSP forced adjournments while its leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui demanded dismissal of the government and imposition of President’s Rule.
In the state Assembly, the BSP waved blue banners and wore blue caps with slogans boldly written on them.
The RLD members carried green placards with slogans demanding announcement of cane support price and the BJP members waved orange banners. Some BJP members also wore long capes with photographs of sugarcane printed on them.
As soon as the House convened at 11 am, the Opposition members began shouting slogans against the government and the BSP and RLD members barged into the Well of the House, forcing a series of adjournments that led to suspension of the Question Hour.
