Assam nabs train blast’s ‘mastermind’
In a major breakthrough, the security forces on Saturday arrested the main accused in last Sund-ay’s railway track bomb blast leading to the derailment of four coaches of the Guwahati-Puri Express near Rangia in Assam.
Kamrup SP Apurva Jeevan Baruah said self-styled “deputy commander-in-chief” of the fledgling “Adivasi People’s Army” Silva Orang was the “mastermind” behind the bomb blast, and that he was caught from a house in the Bang-apara area of the district on the basis of a specific tipoff. Some other leaders of the outfit were still at large.
Orang, who was physically present at the blast site, was caught in a joint Army-police operation, security sources said.
