Arrests by Bihar Vigilance Bureau against corruption
The Bihar vigilance bureau has arrested 65 public servants on corruption charges upto mid of December in 2010.
State vigilance bureau superintendent of police Sudhir Kumar said, the bureau sleuths trapped the public servants red-handed accepting bribes upto December 16 since January 2010.
The bureau began proceedings for confiscation of property accumulated by a motor vehicle inspector Raghuvans Kunwar disproportionate to his known sources of income for opening a school in Aurangabad district.
The bureau has submitted the chargesheet against the inspector, Mr Kumar said.
The bureau had also approached the courts for confiscation of properties of 13 other public servants in DA cases, the SP said.
Among public servants facing DA cases were executive engineer of rural works department (Aurangabad Division-2) Shrikant Prasad, Patna regional development authority vice-chairman Kalika Prasad, sale tax officials Anil Kumar, Patna treasury assistant Girish Kumar, Gaya municipal corporation retired revenue officer Yogendra Kumar and district forest officer (Kaimur) Bhola Prasad.
