Apex court bench declines to hear Ayodhya plea

A Supreme Court bench on Wednesday declined to hear a petition seeking to restrain the Allahabad high court from pronouncing its September 24 verdict on a title suit related to the Ramjanambhoomi-Babri Masjid disputed structure at Ayodhya.

A bench of Justice Altamas Kabir and justice A.K. Patnaik said that it had no jurisdiction to hear matters arising out of civil suits. Now the matter is likely to be posted before another bench. It may come up for hearing on Thursday.
