AP minister named in Jagan case
The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday named Andhra major industries minister J. Geetha Reddy as accused No. 9 in the quid pro quo investments case of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in the Lepakshi Knowledge Hub land allotment conspiracy.
IAS officers K. Ratna Prabha, B. Sambob and D. Muralidhar Reddy were those named in the new chargesheets.
The CBI filed two more chargesheets in the special court for CBI cases in connection with alleged irregularities in the allotment of land and incentives to Lepakshi Knowledge Hub and Indu Techzone, an IT SEZ promoted by the Indu Group, and alleged quid pro quo investments by the company in the companies belonging to Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The chargesheets allege that Indugroup had invested `65 crore in Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s companies and got around 9,000 acres in return from the government headed by his father, the late Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy.
Two former ministers — Sabita Indra Reddy and Dharmana Prasada Rao — were again named in both the chargesheets as accused.
Industrialist and Indu Projects CMD I. Shyam Prasad Reddy and his four companies were named as accused in the case. Two of the company’s chartered accountants were also named as accused.
In the chargesheet filed regarding Indutech, the CBI alleged that favours were shown to Indu Projects in the form of allotment of 250 acres of land at Shamshabad near the international airport and in return Indu Projects invested `15 crore in Carmel Asia Holdings owned by Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Further, `175 crore in loans was raised on the land but no jobs were provided though that was a condition of the allotment.
