Ankita becomes first woman artist to paint under zero gravity conditions
Mumbai resident Ankita Joshi has become the first woman artist in the world to paint under zero gravity conditions.
Joshi said it was difficult for her to get permission to paint inside the flight and painting at the height of 34,000 feet was a great experience for her.
"For the zero gravity, it was difficult to find somebody, who would allow me to paint inside this kind of an aircraft. Basically, these aircrafts are used for training of NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) astronauts and other astronauts, who want to go in space and US air force people," said Joshi.
"So, they do not allow any civilian to go for this, but then repeated conversation with them, finally they said yes. So I went there. I did my training successfully and then they allowed me to take my canvasses inside and paint on them," she added.
Joshi further said that Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been always an inspiration and lucky charm for her, and so she decided to go for Khan's painting in zero gravity.
"So, I decided to paint Salman Khan as my first painting in zero gravity, so that I get my good luck to finish all my paintings and I get my success," she said, adding that it would be great honour for her if she gets the opportunity to gift her paintings to her favourite actor.
Joshi, who has read a lot about zero gravity, said she decided to execute this concept in her art.
