Amar Singh will see a psychiatrist at AIIMS on Wednesday

Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh, shifted suddenly to AIIMS Monday night, will be examined by a psychiatrist on Wednesday for his “anxiety”, a senior doctor said.

“He is neither stable nor critical. An endocrinologist and a gastroenterologist have seen him, a psychiatrist will do so tomorrow,” Dr Sanjay Gupta said.

A Delhi court, meanwhile, asked Tihar jail officials Tuesday to explain by Wednesday what “necessitated” Mr Singh’s shifting to AIIMS. The court deferred its ruling on Mr Singh’s bail plea, and listed it for hearing on Thursday.
