Amar: Have full cash scam info
Former Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Amar Singh, who is out on bail in the cash-for-vote scam, on Tuesday claimed to have “full information” on the episode but refused to reveal them as the matter is sub-judice.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Amar Singh said, “I have full information about the case. But I will not comment as the matter is sub-judice.”
The former SP leader also said that he would be travelling to Singapore either on November 15 or 16 for treatment and that he would soon inform the court of his travel plans. He said, “I have delayed my visit to Singapore as my doctor has gone to the US. Now I have planned to go to Singapore either on November 15 or 16. I will apprise the court about my travel plan.”
Acting on his petition, a Delhi court had allowed him to go abroad for treatment to his kidneys after furnishing a surety bond of `5 lakhs. He has been suffering from kidney ailment for quite sometime now.
Mr Singh was arrested on September 6 and was granted bail on October 24 on humanitarian grounds. During his incarceration period, he was undergoing treatment at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences under judicial custody. Accusing his former colleagues in the SP of attempting to defame him, Mr Amar Singh asserted that he has full faith in the judiciary.
Demanding the creation of a Poorvanchal state, Mr Singh also called on Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati to bring in a legislation in this regard during the forthcoming Winter Assembly session in the state.
