Aligarh breathes easy after two days of anxiety
Aligarh: After an uneasy calm engulfed the city for the past two days, Aligarh today breathed an air of normalcy, even as reactions on the Ayodhya title suits verdict which was pronounced yesterday poured in from various quarters.
Reacting to the verdict, a senior staff member of the Aligarh Muslim University said, "Normal hustle and bustle is returning to Muslim dominated areas where the prevailing mood appears to be of a sullen resignation to the inevitable."
The Vice Chancellor of AMU P K Abdul Azis said: "True to the spirit of the founding fathers of this institution the AMU has maintained an exemplary atmosphere of peace and goodwill during the past few days, which was a very testing period for us."
