Alert! Lashkar’s out there
Dec. 27: The Centre has issued a countrywide alert ahead of New Year with intelligence inputs suggesting Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Tayyaba (LeT) is planning strikes in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Goa.
Intelligence inputs suggest locations reconnoitred by Pakistani-American LeT terrorist David Coleman Headley may be on the radar. He spoke of an annual conference of software engineers at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel during his interrogation by the National Investigation Agency. Days later, the 26/11 took place.
The LeT’s latest modus operandi is to carry out “single blasts” using new recruits who do not leave a trail, officials said, adding, “LeT teams have already entered Mumbai and Ahmedabad.”
