Akhilesh declares assets worth Rs 4.83cr

UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has become the first chief minister of the state to declare his assets and liabilities worth over Rs 4.83 crore publicly.

Details of Mr Yadav’s assets were uploaded on the government website, late on Tuesday night.
In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, when Mr Akhilesh Yadav filed his nomination papers for Kannauj parliamentary seat, he had declared movable and immovable assets of more than Rs 5.52 crore. As per the fresh declaration till March 15, the chief minister has immovable assets of more than Rs 98.84 lakh.
These include agriculture land in Etawah worth Rs 17.53 lakh, a property on Vikramaditya Marg in Lucknow (half share) Rs 41.63 lakh, another property on MG road in the state capital worth Rs 37.55 lakh and a plot of Rs 2.11 lakh in Etawah’s Friends colony.
He has made investments worth Rs 1.08 crores and has Rs 1.18 crore in cash in bank accounts. His investments include Rs 1.08 lakh in insurance policies and mutual funds, Rs 63.80 lakh in Aviva Life Insurance, portfolio investment of Rs 14.86 lakh and principal mutual fund of Rs 10 lakh, besides others. With Rs 97,923 cash in hand, Mr Akhilesh has a bank balance of more than Rs 1.18 crore, including fixed deposits.
The chief minister owns a Pajero worth Rs 20.16 lakh and his liabilities include loan worth Rs 1.37 crore against his name. The loans and advances include Rs 22.24 lakh to wife Ms Dimple Yadav, Rs 1.11 crore to Mr Prateek Yadav and Rs 1.19 lakh to the Samajwadi Party.
In 2009, when Mr Akhilesh Yadav submitted the affidavit along with his nomination for Lok Sabha, he had Rs 4.27 lakh cash in hand, besides investments of Rs 53.45 lakh in LIC, NSS and postal savings and bond debenture and shares of Rs 4.67 lakh.
