Ajmer blast accused in court against CBI
An RSS functionary accused in Ajmer blast case on Monday moved a Delhi court seeking registration of an FIR against the probe agency, the CBI, and the Tehelka magazine for allegedly making public right-wing activist Swami Aseemanand’s confessional statement.
Moving an application before the court of additional chief metropolitan magistrate (ACMM) Sanjay Bansal, the RSS functionary Devendra Gupta alleged that Aseemanand’s confessional statement recorded by a MM under Section 164 of the CrPC was leaked by the CBI to Tehelka in violation of law.
The court, after hearing the application, has reserved his order till Tuesday.
Mr Gupta, against whom a chargesheet has been filed by the Rajasthan’s anti-terrorist squad (ATS), through his lawyer Anupam S. Sharma and Sanjeev Nassiar argued before the court that the media coverage indicates a well-defined leakage that is authored with a design to insulting the judicial process.
The leakage of court proceedings opened an additional forum of media trial to prejudice the mind of the court in violation of the rights of the accused in custody.
Mr Gupta is currently lodged in Central Jail, Ajmer.
