After Bitti arrest, father disappears
After the reported arrest of German girl rape convict Bittihotra Mohanty, alias Bitti, by the Kerala police from Kannur on Friday evening, his father and former Orissa director general of police (home guard) Bidya Bhusan Mohanty has disappeared from his residence at CDA Colony in Cuttack, nearly 30 km from here.
Although mediapersons thronged his house on Saturday to get his reactions, they found the house locked. The servant of the house said, “Bidya sir left the house early in the morning. He has not told us where he has gone,” the servant said.
Mediapersons said the Kerala police arrested Bitti when he was about to give them a slip.
Kerala DGP K.S. Balasubraminiyam said the identity of Bitti could be confirmed after the arrival of the Rajasthan police in the state.
According to reports, after jumping his parole, Bitti fled to Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh.
He was in Andhra Pradesh for three years, but constantly changed town. He then went to Kerala where he has been living for the last three-and-a-half years under the name of Raghav Rajan.
He had a fake passport, a driver’s licence and even a college degree certificate in the name of Raghav Rajan, police sources said. He had been working at the State Bank of Travancore for two years now, after acquiring an MBA degree from Kannur.
