Advani looking for safe MP seat: Cong

The Congress on Sunday predicted that BJP veteran L.K. Advani will fight the coming Lok Sabha elections from Bihar. It also thinks Mr Advani’s recent statement shows a “civil war” in the BJP for power.
Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed tweeted, “People say, by rating Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan above Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, L.K. Advani is looking for a safe seat in Madhya Pradesh, but I think he will contest from a seat in Bihar.”
Mr Advani, who had revived the BJP after its humiliating defeat in the 1984 Lok Sabha elections, praised Mr Chauhan, his governance, modest nature and promotion of developmental activities in Madhya Pradesh, while comparing him with Mr Modi.
Information and broadcasting minister Manish Tewari sees this as a civil war in the Bharatiya Janata Party.
“BJP story by Advaniji. Chouhanji versus Modi versus Rajnathji versus Sushmaji versus Jaitleyji versus Gadkariji. RSS versus BJPji — civil war in pariwar ji,” Mr Tewari tweeted on Sunday.
His comments came a day after Mr Advani appeared to pay left-handed compliments to Mr Modi when he said that while Mr Modi had made a “healthy” Gujarat into an “excellent” state, Mr Chouhan turned around Madhya Pradesh, once called a “bimaru” state.
“Atal Behari Vajpayee implemented several developmental schemes, including road network, but he always remained very humble and far away from arrogance. Chouhan never had any ego. I found Chouhan very humble, like Vajpayee,” Mr Advani had told BJP’s meeting the other day.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
