‘Advani comment emotional for dad’
UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that senior BJP leader L.K. Advani had commented on the functioning of his government as an Opposition leader but for Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav it became an emotional issue.
“I am his (Mulayam Singh) son and when Mr Advani complained to him about my government in Parliament, as a father he became emotional and that is why he spoke about it in public,” the CM said while referring to the SP chief’s statement about the unsatisfactory performance of the Akhilesh Yadav government.
In an interview to this correspondent, the CM said that as a leader of an Opposition party, Mr Advani was merely taking a political stand, but the SP chief took it personally. “A few weeks ago Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj was in Lucknow to take part in a protest march against the state government. Do you think she would praise my government,” he said
While refusing to comment on Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah’s statement that the UP CM’s job was tougher than his job, Mr Yadav said Union minister Beni Prasad Verma’s attack on the SP leadership was not issue-based.
