Adhir campaigns for rebel Cong candidates

On the eve of UPA chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s rally in Murshidabad, party district president Adhir Chowdhury openly campaigned for the rebel Congress candidates on Tuesday.

Mrs Gandhi will address a public meeting at Salar on Wednesday where Mr Chowdhury is also expected to be present. At Sagardighi and Jalangi, where he addressed public meetings on Tuesday, he challenged the Congress high-command and the Trinamul Congress to take action against him if they had the guts to do so. A defiant Mr Chowdhury said, “I will be present at the meeting of madam Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday. If state Congress president Manas Bhunia has the guts, he can expel me from the party. But I am always with the Congress workers and leaders of Murshidabad.”
