Achu takes on Achumman in Malampuzha
Come Thursday, Malampuzha will witness a new and creative face-off between Achu and “Achumman”.
Achu Oommen, daughter of Opposition leader Oommen Chandy, is cobbling up a street play in the cultural rally organised by the Congress-led UDF in Malampuzha, where Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan is contesting.
The rally is being led by Chandy Oommen, son of the Opposition leader. Apart from Ms Achu, the new entrant in the party Sindhu Joy and youth leader T.J. Saneeshkumar, will also taking part in the rally.
The street play, an essential ingredient of poll campaigns in Kerala, will focus on the ‘wrongdoings’ of the Left Democratic Front government. The plays will have thinly veiled characters similar to lottery kingpin Santiago Martin, real estate businessman Faris Aboobacker and Mr Achuthanandan, or “Achumman” as he is affectionately called by Keralites.
“While Chandy Oommen, Achu, and Sindhu would focus on speeches and interactive programmes, a group of 20 artists would present the skits, songs, plays etc,” he added.
