70 shanties gutted in fire in Delhi

A major fire gutted more than 70 shanties on Friday afternoon in Patel Nagar area of central Delhi, said an official.

The fire broke out around 1.30pm at Kathputli colony in Patel Nagar area. Around 12 fire tenders were pressed to douse the blaze in what is known to be a puppeteers' colony.

According to a fire brigade official, the reason behind the fire is yet to ascertained.

No casualties have been reported.
