7 held for impersonating ministers’ kin

In a sensational case, the Jammu police arrested seven impersonators appearing in MBBS/BDS entrance examination for a private college allegedly on behalf of kin of two politicians, including a Congress minister in the present Omar Cabinet and ex-minister of National Conference, besides five other candidates.
All the seven impersonators were sent to police remand on Sunday.

Though the political adversaries of the coalition, mainly Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was very quick in demanding the sacking of works minister G.M. Saroori after reports appeared in the media that one of the impersonators appeared in the exam on behalf of her daughter Huma, yet the police continued to be evasive on the issue. Police officers refused to confirm or deny the details about the minister’s daughter and in their quotes they maintained that the “formal documents from the college authorities were still awaited to verify the claims of the arrested impersonators.”
The minister, however, on Sunday evening issued a statement stating that it was a conspiracy to malign his image and directed the police to conduct thorough inquiry.
All seven MBBS aspirants were however absconding and could not be arrested though they have been booked in the FIR registered against the impersonators at Gandhi Nagar police station.
The impersonators were drawn from four states, J&K, MP, Rajashtan and UP, for appearing in MBBS/BDS examination entrance test for a private college Ascoms Sidhra in Jammu University for an equal number of students, including four from Jammu and three from outside the state. Media reports quoting police sources maintained that two youths, including a girl, were appearing in the examination for the kin of two politicians, including works minister G.M. Saroori and National Conference leader Ram Pal, a former minister. Kunj Bihari, a kingpin of the racketeers, who had brought the impersonators here, managed to escape.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
