6 Indian divers trapped in sunken ship
A team of Iranian rescuers is working to reach 13 trapped divers, including six Indians, who are stuck underwater since the last two days in a sunken ship with limited oxygen supply.
The divers were installing an underwater oil pipeline and were inside a pressurised diving chamber when their Koosha-1 ship sank in the Persian Gulf in stormy seas on October 20.
Besides the Indians, the divers were Iranian and Ukranian.
An Iranian official said the diving chamber in which they were trapped had limited supply of oxygen but the rescue team hopes to reach them soon.
Pirouz Mousavi, head of the Pars Energy Zone in southern Iran said the divers have been trapped in the diving chamber of the sunken ship which has oxygen for 48 hours.
