35 monkeys killed in UP
The killing of monkeys in Uttar Pradesh continues to baffle the state government. After 24 monkeys were found dead in Farukkhabad last week, 35 more monkeys were found dead in Rehmanpur village in Bareilly district on Saturday night. The carcasses of the monkeys were thrown into a field in the village, packed in gunny bags.
Eye witnesses said that the miscreants had brought the gunny bags in a tempo and had fled after throwing them in the fields.

New K’taka CJ sworn in
Bengaluru : Justice J.S. Kehar was on Sunsay sworn in as the new chief justice of Karnataka high court at a brief ceremony at Raj Bhavan.
Justice Kehar, who was the chief justice of ttaranchal high court earlier, was administered the oath of office and secrecy by governor H.R. Bhardwaj.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended among others by chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, law minister Suresh Kumar and Lokayukta Santosh Hegde.
Justoce Kehar took over as the chief justice from P.D. Dinakaran, who has been transferred to Sikkim.

Python strays into hospital

A seven-foot-long python created scare in a hospital in Agar on Sunday, sending patients and medical staff into tizzy/
The python strayed into the Khushi Hospital in Kalindi Vihar locality and it took more than 12 hours for the forest staff to catch it and move it to the Keitham forest on the Agra-Delhi road. The python was first spotted by a chemist who owns a shop in the hospital.
Several patients and their attendants attempted to leave the hospital but were pacified by the forest staff.

Woman gives birth to four

A 30-year-old woman on Sunday gave birth to quadruplets at a government hospital at Bhillai, nearly 25 km from here, after caesarian surgery, doctors in the hospital said.
Bhoomi Choitramani, already the mother of a four-year-old son, gave birth to four baby girls, each weighing 1.8 kg, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital and Research Centre, Bhillai.
