UP: 30 IAS, 26 IPS officers shifted
UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, in a late night administrative reshuffle, transferred 30 IAS officers and 26 IPS officers, including DGP Atul Gupta.
The transfer that began around midnight continued till 2 am on Monday.
DGP Atul Gupta has been transferred as DG homeguards while Ambrish Chandra Sharma takes over as the new DGP of Uttar Pradesh.
S.C. Gupta has been appointed as the new advocate-general, replacing Mr Jyotindra Misra who stepped down from his post on Sunday.
Prominent among those transferred include chairman of Noida and Yamuna Expressway, Mohinder Singh, who has been put on the waiting-list. His successor has not yet been named.
District magistrate of Lucknow Anil Kumar Sagar has been shifted as special secretary, handicapped welfare, and Anurag Yadav has been named as the new district magistrate in the state capital.
Eleven districts in the state will have new district magistrates. These include Kanpur, Faizabad, Pratapgarh, Bulandshahr, Baghpat, Unnao, Shahjahanpur, Kushinagar, Meerut, Barabanki and Muzaffarnagar.
