3 marine university students drown in Visakhapatnam

Three B Tech students of the Marine University here drowned at the Yerada beach on Monday, police said.

According to police, 19 students of the University were playing football on the beach sand at Yerada beach.

Four B Tech students ventured into the waters to retrieve the ball, which fell in the waters and were washed away by the tides.

Local fishermen rescued one student, while three others – Om Prakesh (20), Sivam Suresh(20), and Giridhar Singh (20), all second year students, drowned, police said.

Search operations are on to trace their bodies, they said.
