3 Maoists killed in Dantewada

Raipur, Aug. 11: Three Maoists, allegedly involved in the April 6 massacre of 76 security personnel at Chintanlar, were on Wednesday killed in a fierce gun battle between the Red guerrillas and Koya commandos of Chhattisgarh police in the restive Dantewada district’s Rangaiguda forest. Four rebels were also arrested following the encounter.

“The commandos — specially trained in jungle warfare — seized the bullet-ridden bodies of three Maoists in rebel fatigues after the gun battle that raged for nearly an hour inside the Rangaiguda forest in the early hours of Wednesday”, Dantewada SP, Mr R.P. Kaluri said.
