3-line whip issued to Cong LS MPs

The Congress has issued a three-line whip to its members for the week starting Monday, when the Food Security Bill and some other key legislative measures are due to come up in the Lok Sabha.

The members were asked to be present in the House and support government business on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Parliament will not sit Wednesday due to Janmashtami.
The Food Security Bill, described by the Congress as a “game changer”, could not be taken up all through last week despite being listed in the Lok Sabha due to disruptions over Telangana and other issues.
The Food Security Bill will come up for discussion and voting on Monday.
