3 English daily offices sealed

Indicating towards flare up in the situation in Jammu region also, the district administration, in a midnight swoop on July 1, sealed the offices and printing units of three local English dailies in Jammu city under provisions of J&K State Press & Publication Act 1989.

However the editors of the sealed dailies Glimpses of Future, The Shadow and Early Times on Friday challenged order dated July 1, 2010 passed by district magistrate Jammu whereby their offices and printing units were sealed, in the state high court. The petition has been submitted before the court on Friday and it is likely to be admitted today.
The order served on these newspapers stated that the step was necessitated as these newspapers had been publishing articles which were not based on facts.
