3 cops beat up ‘rape victim’, suspended
Three police personnel including a SHO, sub-inspector and a woman constable have been suspended for allegedly beating up a 16-year-old girl who had come to the police station to lodge a complaint of gangrape by two youths in Bijnore district.
The three suspended police personnel are SHO of Afzalgarh police station Ramji Lal, sub-inspector Raj Singh and constable Sukhraj Kaur.
The victim, who belongs to Rasoolpur village had alleged that two youths — Anis and Rashid — had gangraped her on April 11.
When she went with her parents, Farooq and Batto, to the Afzalgarh police station the following day to lodge a report against the youths, the police officials had misbehaved with her parents and beat her up.
SP Sunil Chandra Bajpai, on learning of the incident, reached Afzalgarh police station and got the FIR registered against the accused, both of whom were arrested on Tuesday.
This is the second such incident in Uttar Pradesh in the past two weeks.
A 10-year-old alleged rape victim was put behind bars by women cops in Bulandshahr when she had approached them to file a complaint.

DSP CAUGHT MARRYING girl of 13 IN U.P.

A deputy SP, posted as security officer in the secretariat of Chhattisgarh, was arrested in Balua police station of Chandauli district in UP for allegedly marrying a minor girl.
Mahendra Yadav, Station officer (SO) of Balua police station, confirmed that DSP Pradyumna Yadav has been arrested under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act on Monday evening. This was the DSP’s third marriage.
The SO said that a local resident informed him on Monday morning about a 52-year-old man forcibly marrying a 13-year-old girl at Keenaram ashram at Ramgarh village.
The police team went to the village at the stipulated time and found that the DSP was marrying the minor girl.
