2G scam: Pawar behind suspicious firm
cIn fresh trouble for agriculture man Sharad Pawar, lobbyist Nira Radia has claimed that he may be controlling controversial company, DB Realty.
Radia also claimed the minister may have had a hand in procuring scandal-hit 2G spectrum for Swan telecom, to the extend that he might have pursued A. Raja on the matter.
"That as per the general perception in Mumbai as well as outside that DB Realties is directly or indirectly controlled by Sharad Pawar and his family members," Radia replied when asked how she knew about the link.
The above was found in a statement by the lobbyist to the CBI, which is investigating the 2G scam.
Minister Pawar has in the past denied links with the DB Realty group, despite Vinod Goenka - a key 2G accused - claiming that Pawar does have ties with the company. Media reports claim Goenka has a large business venture in Baramati, Pawar`s constituency.
Lobbyist Radia is of key importance to the CBI. She has, so far, given out statements detailing her conversations with politicians, corporates, bureaucrats, and journalists who've been linked to the multi-crore scandal.
The case continues.
