21-year-old pregnant woman killed by in-laws

A 21-year-old pregnant woman was strangulated to death allegedly by her in-laws in Khelna village in the district, police said on Wednesday.

The woman with some scratch marks on body was hospitalised by her in-laws yesterday, they said, adding that she died soon after being admitted.

The woman's father alleged that her father-in-law Kailash and others strangulated her to death, Sub Inspector Pragpura police station Sumer Singh said.

He said it is suspected that rape was attempted on her but it will be clear only after a detailed probe. The woman, a BEd student, was married 15 months ago and her husband is an undertraining constable in Delhi police, Singh said.
