21 govt docs refuse to work in Azam’s Rampur, seek transfers
Twenty-one doctors of the Provincial Medical Services, presently posted in Rampur district have collectively sought their transfer from the district because they are unable to withstand the pressure of senior minister Mohammed Azam Khan.
In a letter sent to the principal secretary, health, the doctors have said that they are unable to work in Rampur because of the terror unleashed by the minister and his supporters.
Talking to this correspondent on condition of anonymity, one of the doctors said over the phone, “We cannot work in these conditions. We are living under the shadow of fear because we never know when the minister will publicly humiliate us or abuse us. We have sought transfer and if the government does not accept our request, we will have to search for other options, even en masse resignations”.
