2-yr-old boy moves DGP against dad’s parents
Two-year-old Thilak along with his mother on Wednesday approached the state director general of police seeking protection from parents of his father saying they were threatening his mother.
The boy was in the news recently after being arrested and jailed with his mother Brindadevi who had staged a dharna in front of her missing husband Radhakrishnan’s house in Erode.
Thilak’s mother had approached the Madras high court a few days ago seeking milk every four hours for the boy in jail and light in his cell at nights.
The court had assured the petitioner’s counsel that due care will be taken of the baby. Now out of jail, Thilak and his mother decided to approach the state police headquarters after Brindadevi started receiving threats from her in-laws.
Brindadevi is planning to go to court again seeking a DNA test to prove that Radhakrishnan was Thilak’s father as the boy’s grand parents had begun saying that their son had not fathered the boy. She also claimed that the local police had warned her saying her husband’s family was close to a minister.
“Radhakrishnan from Villarasampatti in Erode has been missing since Dec. 5, 2010, after his parents took him away from her house. The couple got married in 2008 after falling in love,” police said.
The curious case of Thilak started on December 11 when his mother Brindadevi decided to sit on dharna in front of her husband Radhakrishnan’s house, stating that her in-laws were not allowing him to meet her and the baby.
On Dec. 23, Veerappanchathiram police arrested Brindadevi and the child on charges of criminal intimidation, among others.
