2 TTEs held in Bihar for ‘molesting’ MLA’s wife
Two TTEs were arrested by the GRP in Patna on Saturday and a third one was wanted for allegedly assaulting a Bihar BJP legislator and molesting his wife inside a train in which the couple was travelling from Patna to Kolkata.
The incident, coming a day after a top private company executive was remanded to judicial custody after his arrest for similar misbehaviour with a lady co-passenger in a train, has raised concerns about safety of women passengers in trains running through Bihar.
The two TTEs’ arrests were made after Shivesh Ram, the MLA from Agiaon in Bhojpur district, complained to the GRP that three TTEs displayed utter misbehaviour with his wife and him in the Danapur-Howrah Express train in which the couple was travelling on Friday night.
The incident was reportedly witnessed by several co-passengers, said GRP officials at Bakhtiarpur near Patna, who lodged an FIR lodged against the three accused TTEs. S.P. Singh Sisodia, a Gurgaon-based DGM-level executive of a private telecom company, was forwarded to jail on Friday after he was arrested on charge of harassing a lady co-passenger in the Sampoorna Kranti Express train Thursday.
