2 Norway kids given to uncle, in india soon
A Norwegian court Monday handed over two NRI children in foster care to their paternal uncle, ending months of intense diplomacy between New Delhi and Oslo.
Norway’s Child Welfare Services, which put Abhigyan, 3, and Aishwarya, 1, in foster care last year, said the Stavanger district court ordered they be handed over to their uncle Arunabhash Bhattacharya, who will take them back to India soon, perhaps even by Tuesday.
This became possible after the kids’ parents and CWS filed a joint application to the court.

Cong for Prez consensus, SP pushes Kalam
Age Correspondent
New Delhi, April 23
NCP supremo Sharad Pawar clarified on Monday that he wanted an “agreed” candidate for President, not a “non-political” person, while senior ministers Kapil Sibal and Ghulam Nabi Azad said the Congress was working for a “consensus” nominee.
The Samajwadi Party floated the name of former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, with party MP Shahid Siddiqui saying it was “not averse” to Dr Kalam if there was a consensus. He recalled Mulayam Singh Yadav had first proposed Dr Kalam in 2002.
The BJP and its NDA allies are likely to support Dr Kalam’s candidature.
