2 die in flashfloods, house collapse in J&K
Two persons, including a woman, were killed and four injured in flashfloods and house collapse in Rajouri and Kathua districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Jeet Singh was killed and his brother Sunil was injured when their house collapsed in Kalakote belt of Rajouri on Wednesday night, police said.
In another incident, a 20-year old woman was washed away in flashfloods and another person injured in Ujh river in Derli belt of Kathua district on Thursday.
Two more persons were injured in house collapses in Malhar belt of Kathua district and Darhal belt of Rajouri district, they said.
Heavy rains, have triggered flashfloods in Tawi, Chenab, Sanglad, Charsu, Basantar, Khanetar and Ujh rivers in Jammu, while Poonch, Kathua, Reasi and Udhampur districts have also been affected by the floods.
Flashloods have inundated various areas of Jammu city and submerged dozens of roads including the highway.
