Arunachal for Burma border fence
Age Correspondent
Agartala

Arunachal Pradesh has demanded construction of barbed wire fencing along the Indo-Burma border with the state to prevent trans-border movement of NSCN(IM) insurgents. “Fencing along the Indo-Bangla border has become an effective tool to contain insurgency in Tripura and Assam and a similar measure is necessary along the Indo-Burma border too,” Arunachal Pradesh home minister Tako Dabi said here on Sunday.
He said Arunachal Pradesh has no insurgency problem of its own but the NSCN(IM), Ulfa and NDFB militants hiding in the state’s vast forest has become a headache.

Qureshi says remarks on Pillai justified
New Delhi : Unfazed by India’s attack, Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has justified his statement comparing home secretary G.K. Pillai with Jamaat-ud Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed, saying it was “balanced and objective”. Breaking his silence on the issue since his controversial July 15 remarks, Mr Qureshi said there was “no justification” for Mr Pillai to make the “unhelpful” comments and contended that it spoiled the atmospherics for his talks with external affairs minister S.M. Krishna. “Mr Pillai’s statement was, doubtless, uncalled for and off the mark,” the Pakistani minister said. —PTI

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
