Drug to enhance memory developed
AGE CORRESPONDENT
LUCKNOW

The Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) in Lucknow has developed a new memory-enhancing drug that cures attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children and age associated memory impairment (AAMI) in elderly persons.
The drug also offers a cure for tension, stress and anxiety related disorders and also serves as a memory enhancer.
Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, Dr Hemant K. Singh, a former scientist with the CDRI, said that the drug which is now being marketed under the brand name of “Zaar Memory Sure” had been found to be completely free from side effects.
“The clinical trials of the drug were carried out in India, UK and Australia and have yielded positive results. It is based on the Bacosides Enriched Standardised Extract of Bacopa formulation and has been patented by CDRI,” he said.
“BESEB had been found to be safe under various studies conducted in CDRI laboratory — first in animals, then elderly persons and children,” said Dr Singh.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
