18.16 metre long chocolate bar up for world record
In a bid to enter the record books, a confectioner in this hilly tourist town baked a huge milk chocolate bar measuring 18.16 metre in length and 0.75 metre in width.
Fazloor Rahman of NSP Supermarket, who made the chocolate, told reporters here on Sunday that the existing record is 14.87 metre long and 0.75 metre wide, created by a confectionery in Italy last year.
"We have already staked our claim for an entry in the Limca Book of Records, and the process of getting listed in the Guiness Book of World records is underway," he said.
The chocolate, on display at Hotel Charing Cross since Saturday morning, is made of 400 kilogrammes of ingredients, including cocoa and milk, Rahman said. It took ten persons three days to complete the task, he added.
