150 cases reported this year
Chinese PLA troops are estimated to have made about 150 transgressions into Indian territory this year so far along the 4,000 km-long border the two countries share, sources said on Monday, even as there were reports that the Chinese may have made a third transgression since mid-July into Indian territory in the Chumar sector on July 20.
Army sources had earlier confirmed that the Chinese troops had made two transgressions on July 16 and 17 in Chumar in south-eastern Ladakh but have not confirmed a third transgression. There were also news agency reports of Chinese troops having come within two kms of an Indian post in the Daulat Beg Oldi (DBO) sector of north-eastern Ladakh on July 12 but these too were not confirmed by the Army.
The two countries are also scheduled to hold talks on Tuesday as per the earlier-constituted joint mechanism.
