11 labourers electrocuted
Eleven labourers, including three women, were on Tuesday electrocuted when they came in contact with a high voltage wire in Singahi town area, about 150 kms from here, police said.
The accident occurred in Singahi police station area on Tuesday morning when the labourers were working at a multi-storey building construction site under Integrated Housing Slum Development Project, SDM C.P. Tewari said. The workers were shifting some heavy machines when an overhead 11,000 volt line fell on them, he said.
Three labourers suffered burn injuries in the mishap and have been hospitalised, he said.
An inquiry has been ordered into the incident, he said.
