Man chops off ex-wife nose, held
age correspondent
Jaipur, Feb. 19

The Pratapgarh district police on Sunday arrested one Suresh Jat for allegedly chopping off his ex-wife’s nose to “punish” her for deserting him. The victim, identified as Manju, 34, has been admitted to Udaipur medical college and hospital. Her condition is stated to be stable.
‘We have arrested her former husband Suresh and his father Manna Lal,” said a police officer at Chhoti Sadri police station under Pratapgarh district. The victim had named half-a-dozen people, including Suresh, for brutality. The victim alleged that Suresh barged into her house at Subi village under Chhoti Sadri village, along with five others, on Saturday and chopped off her nose.
Manju was married to Suresh, but the marriage did not work and she got married to someone else. It annoyed Suresh and his family as they took it as an insult.
