‘PAC is BJP-Left party forum’
Tarring BJP and the Left with the same brush, Congress on Friday accused that the Right and the Left have come together in their bid to destabilise the secular UPA dispensation at the Centre.
Countering the BJP-Left combine’s allegations against the Congress on both the PAC fiasco and Purulia arms drop controversy, AICC spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, “First, the PAC has been converted into a BJP-Left party forum instead of a joint parliamentary committee. Secondly, the unholy alliance is trying to rake up an issue based on statements made by international crooks.” Together they are basically trying to destabilise the “secular Congress and the UPA”, he added.
Mr Singhvi said the BJP has decided to fully support the Left in the elections in West Bengal and they were doing this by fighting a proxy war at the national level to “save the sinking ship” of the Left in the state.
Charging PAC chairman Murli Manohar Joshi of throwing all norms of discussion and debate to the wind with the “active connivance and unconditional support” of the Left, the AICC spokesperson said, “The joint attempt to push through the draft PAC report, which was not discussed and deliberated by members, is condemnable.”
